ADB Expands the Team with Appointment of Fire and Security Solutions Manager

13 May 2022

Welcome to the team, Joe Mullings!

We are delighted to welcome Joe Mullings to the ADB Alarms team as Fire and Security Solutions Manager.

Energetic and highly knowledgeable, Joe joined us last month and is responsible for building relationships with new customers and targeting medium to large businesses across a range of sectors, including manufacturing, engineering, care homes and hospitality.

He describes his approach:

‘The businesses I speak to usually have fire and intruder systems in place already but haven’t reviewed their effectiveness or the level of service they receive for some time. I’ll look at what they have, identify any gaps in protection, assess whether they’re compliant with current regulations and then see if ADB Alarms can offer a better deal. Nine times out of ten, we can.’

Joe also plans and designs new systems and will be working with our existing customers to ensure their fire and intruder protection systems are keeping pace with changes both within their business and in regulatory requirements.

Joe brings a huge amount of experience working in the design and supply of business protection systems since 1989, including establishing his own successful security business which he sold in 1999. Following a six-year break from the fire and security industry, which he spent working in business solutions management in the utilities sector, Joe was keen to get back to a sector where he felt he could genuinely make a difference and describes the move to ADB as ‘like coming home’.

Joe was already familiar with ADB having known our founder, Alan Bennett, since the late 1980s and explains why the company and the role were the perfect fit for him:

‘I always admired the values of the business and, now under Sam and Sarah’s formidable leadership, it has retained its focus on technical knowledge and building genuine relationships with customers. That combination is a huge advantage in a service-lead industry and makes the job of selling ADB that much easier.’

Joe works flexibly Monday to Wednesday - from home, from the ADB Alarms’ offices in Stoke and Cheltenham (which covers Bristol, the southwest and into London) as well as at customer premises.

He sees a very bright future ahead:

‘The business has seen strong growth with acquisitions, improved administrative processes, greater focus on staff quality and training, strengthened product purchasing power and customer retention. It’s in the enviable position of being small enough to care and big enough to cope and I am looking forward to being part of its future success.’

In his spare time, Joe is a passionate home cook (specialising in chocolate brownies no less!), bike rider, walker, and gym-goer. He loves spending time with his family and friends and is an active member of the Stoke Seventh Day Adventist Church.

For a no-obligation review of your fire detection or intruder alarm system, give Joe a call on 01782 269159 or email him at joemullings@adbalarms.com.
